Synopsis   
Graham Perkin, editor of The Age from 1966-75, had no time for racing and regarded jockets as little people who sat on horses. Perkin could be rather aggressive at time and on the nigh of October 21, 1971 was looking for a suitable news item for the next morning's poster. Often he checked with sports editor Nigel Balfe to see if there was anything stronger in that area than general news, politics or finance. "What's your best Ginner?" he called out in a stentorian voice. Balfe replied that Roy Higgins had been engaged to ride Sking Dip in the Moonee Valley Cup. "If you haven't anythign better than that, you won't get a poster," Perkin exploded.
